Chief Financial and Operating Officer
About the role
The incoming Chief Financial and Operations Officer (CFOO) will be a strong strategic partner to the Head of School, Leadership Team, and the Board of Trustees, providing leadership for short- and long-term decision-making. The CFOO will act as a change leader and systems thinker, translating Milton’s new strategic vision into actionable financial and operational plans while advancing the school’s financial model to prioritize fiscal sustainability.
As the leader of Milton’s non-academic operational and administrative units, the CFOO will break down silos, strengthen synergies between functions, and ensure operational effectiveness across all areas. They will manage a large and diverse team, fostering a culture of service, developing talent, and leveraging the expertise of direct reports.
A vital member of the Milton community, the CFOO will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with a wide range of highly engaged stakeholders. The role requires a deep appreciation for Milton’s educational mission and a nuanced understanding of how financial and operational functions support and enhance teaching, learning, and the student experience.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic partner to the Head of School, Leadership Team, and Board of Trustees for financial and operational decision-making.
- Lead the translation of Milton’s strategic vision into actionable financial and operational plans.
- Advance the school’s financial model to prioritize fiscal sustainability.
- Oversee non-academic operational and administrative units, breaking down silos and strengthening cross-functional synergies.
- Ensure operational effectiveness across all areas of the school.
- Manage, support, and develop a large and diverse team, fostering a culture of service and talent development.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the Milton community, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Align financial and operational functions to support and enhance teaching, learning, and the student experience.
Pay
The salary range for this role is $325,000 to $375,000, commensurate with skills and experience.
Schedule
The CFOO role is fully in-person and based on Milton’s campus in Milton, MA.
