Key Responsibilities
- Implement a strategic vision and organization priorities jointly established by the CEO and Staff and approved by the Board of Directors.
- Recommend long-term goals and organizational priorities.
- Identify and implement opportunities for growth in membership, programming, and services.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders: Clubs, members, officials, coaches, staff, and key facilities.
- Serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization.
- Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors while operating within the organization’s Policy Governance framework.
- Provide regular reports documenting progress toward Board-approved Ends Policies.
- Advise the Board on emerging opportunities, risks, and industry trends.
- Develop and administer the annual operating budget.
- Maintain financial oversight, monitor revenues, expenses, and financial performance.
- Ensure appropriate internal controls and fiscal accountability.
- Pursue sponsorships, grants, and revenue-generating opportunities.
- Monitor excess cash and invest in high yield guaranteed investments.
- Send board monthly financial statements created by the region bookkeeper, along with any additional reports requested.
- Oversee daily operations of the Region.
- Supervise employees, contractors, and all staff.
- Set job duties, deadlines, and oversee staff to assure services are being delivered to our customers.
- Establish policies and procedures that support organizational effectiveness.
- Utilize technology, implement effective communications, keep good records, and endorse administrative systems that assist in operating a large organization.
- Responsible for planning and implementation of annual tournament schedules, assigning hosts, securing facility contracts of all region hosted or co-hosted events.
- Region leases a storage facility; CEO responsible for overseeing storage organization, pulling needed supplies for region hosted tournaments/ programs during the season.
- Maintain timely and professional communication with members, clubs, officials, staff, and stakeholders.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role, including experience in fundraising, strategic planning, and operational management. A bachelor’s degree in business administration, sports management, or a related field is preferred. Proven leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong understanding of non-profit governance are essential. Experience in volleyball or youth sports administration is highly desirable.
