About the Role

Supervise the implementation of all property and equipment preventive maintenance and repairs, monitor life safety systems and utilities, and assist in the administration of the department in compliance with all corporate/franchise standards and local, state, and national codes and regulations to protect assets, guests, and employees.

Supervise the day-to-day operations, recommend and implement procedural changes, monitor and control expenses, and supervise Engineering employees through interviewing, scheduling, training, developing, coaching, counseling, and performance reviews.

Implement and schedule property and equipment preventive maintenance programs to ensure safety, convenience, and satisfaction for all guests, managers, and employees while maintaining the property in first-class condition.

Prioritize service requests, schedule and monitor service performance to ensure customer satisfaction, safety, and convenience. Test and examine life safety systems to ensure 100% operational readiness. Monitor utility consumption and review purchase requests to meet or exceed budgeted goals.

Assist in the administration of the department by preparing and maintaining schedules, logs, records, or other documentation to ensure smooth operation and minimize liabilities.

Requirements

  • One to two years of post-high school education.
  • Two to three full years of full employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s).
  • Advanced knowledge of the Building Management/Engineering profession, including experiential knowledge for managing people and complex problems.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze current activities or information in a specialized field, drawing logical conclusions and recommendations.
  • Supervisory skills and ability to provide information and services to hotel management and guests.
  • Comprehension and literacy for procedures, reports, instructions, and receipts.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to communicate effectively with management and staff.
  • Frequent visual checks of hotel premises.
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying weights up to 25 lbs. and greater for hotel equipment and machinery.
  • Frequent bending and/or kneeling for repairs and maintenance.
  • Mobility throughout the hotel, including all floors, varying heights, and distances; use of ladders and lifts required.
  • Continuous standing in varying degrees throughout the day.
  • Climbing approximately 210 steps for 10% of each day.
  • Climbing ladders up to 20 feet for 5% of each day.
  • Limited driving (generally within 20 miles) for supplies and equipment.

Work Environment

  • Work inside 95% of the week; outside 5% of the week.
  • Exposure to abnormal temperatures (e.g., walk-in freezers below 32 degrees) for 1% of the time.
  • Operation of power hand tools (e.g., circular saw, drill).

Pay

USD $75,000.00 - USD $85,000.00 per year.
