About the Role
Peckham Industries is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead technical excellence across our construction materials and road construction projects in the Northeast. In this employee-owned, family-oriented company, you will oversee design, quality, and safety for asphalt, aggregates, and ready-mix concrete work supporting critical infrastructure.
Responsibilities
• Lead engineering standards, review plans and specifications, and ensure compliance with regulations and customer requirements
• Resolve complex field issues and provide technical guidance to project teams
• Mentor engineers and project teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
• Collaborate with operations and project managers to drive project success
• Oversee quality control and safety protocols for asphalt, aggregates, and ready-mix concrete projects
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Minimum 10 years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
• Strong background in construction materials (asphalt, aggregates, ready-mix concrete) and road construction
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
