Chief Electrical Inspector

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Building Official. The ideal candidate will have experience in plan review, inspection, and code enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
• Inspect construction sites to ensure adherence to approved plans and safety standards.
• Enforce building codes and regulations during inspections and provide guidance on compliance issues.
• Respond to inquiries from developers, contractors, and homeowners regarding building permits and inspections.
• Prepare reports and documentation related to inspections and code enforcement activities.
• Participate in public meetings and provide input on zoning and land use issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in building inspection, plan review, or code enforcement.
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.

Pay

Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 annually.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
