Job Summary
The California Energy Commission seeks an experienced Communications Professional to serve as the lead writing and editing expert. This role involves shaping how the CEC communicates with Californians, leading agency writing standards, editing high-profile reports, and developing public-facing content.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of agency-wide writing standards.
- Edit high-profile reports, white papers, and other technical documents.
- Develop and maintain clear, engaging, and accessible public-facing content.
- Collaborate with technical experts, executives, and partner agencies.
- Serve as the CEC's authority on writing style and plain language.
Requirements
- Exceptional writing and editing skills.
- Experience in journalism, media relations, public affairs, or strategic communications.
- Talent for translating technical information into compelling stories.
- Experience training others in writing and communication.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Interest in energy and climate issues.

Benefits
