Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Division of Arthroplasty, ensuring alignment with departmental, college and Banner Health priorities.
- Lead divisional efforts in quality, safety, patient outcomes and clinical standardization, including joint replacement pathways and value-based care initiatives.
- Partner with departmental and BUMG leadership on ambulatory growth strategies, access, clinic efficiency and care model optimization.
- Support faculty recruitment, onboarding, mentoring and professional development within the Division.
- Oversee divisional performance metrics, including volume, quality outcomes, patient experience and financial stewardship.
- Collaborate with hospital and health system leaders on service line development, technology adoption and program expansion.
- Participate in departmental and institutional leadership committees as appropriate.
- Maintain an active adult reconstruction/arthroplasty clinical practice, including primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty.
- Provide high-quality patient care in ambulatory clinic settings, surgical services and inpatient care at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix.
- Actively participate in multidisciplinary care teams, focusing on enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS), perioperative optimization and value-based care.
- Serve as a referral resource for complex arthroplasty cases within the Banner system.
- Teach and mentor medical students, residents and fellows in orthopedic surgery and related programs.
- Contribute to curriculum development and educational innovation within the Department of Orthopaedics.
- Support scholarly activity, including clinical research, outcomes research or educational scholarship, consistent with academic rank and interests.
- Promote a culture of inquiry, professionalism and continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
- Hold an MD or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Be eligible for a University of Arizona academic appointment at the associate professor level or higher.
- Be board certified in speciality.
- Be eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Arizona.
- Be eligible for medical staff membership at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix.
- Have a successful track record of publishing research findings in arthroplasty.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exhibit greater than 10 years of progressively complex administrative experience (e.g., program leader, center/section director, etc.) in an academic medical center setting.
- Have leadership experience supervising orthopedic faculty and staff.
- Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal communication and professionalism skills.
