About the role
The role of Chief Deputy Legal Counsel involves providing legal guidance and support to the organization. This includes reviewing contracts, drafting legal documents, and representing the organization in legal matters.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and counsel to department heads and other staff members.
- Review and negotiate contracts and agreements.
- Draft legal documents such as policies, procedures, and agreements.
- Represent the organization in legal proceedings and hearings.
- Stay updated with legal developments and trends relevant to the organization.
Requirements
- A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Member in good standing of the bar in the state where the organization is located.
- At least 5 years of experience in legal practice, preferably in a governmental or public sector setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications
- Experience in contract review and negotiation.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws applicable to the organization.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
