About the role
The role of Chief Deputy Legal Counsel involves providing legal advice and support to the department, managing litigation, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal guidance and support to department staff on various legal matters.
- Manage and oversee litigation cases, including drafting legal documents and representing the department in court.
- Ensure all department operations comply with relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in legal practice, preferably in a governmental or public sector setting.
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
- Ability to handle complex legal issues and represent the department in court.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with legal research and analysis.
Skills
- Strong legal knowledge and understanding of local, state, and federal laws.
- Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Pay
Salary range: $75,000 - $90,000 annually.
Schedule
