Chief Construction Inspector
Dewberry is seeking a Chief Construction Inspector to work on projects in the greater NYC metropolitan area.
About the role
The Chief Inspector will review job specifications, plans, field work methods, costs, and supervise inspectors on the job site to verify compliance with contract documents.
Responsibilities
- Review job specifications and plans
- Oversee field work methods and costs
- Supervise inspectors on-site to ensure compliance with contract documents
- Perform complex quantity and engineering computations
- Read and interpret plans and specifications
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of prior construction inspection experience on NYCDDC, NYSDOT, NYCDEP, NYSTA, or other state/city agency projects
- NICET IV Certification in Transportation/Highway and Bridge Construction or equivalent (NICET II or III also acceptable)
- OSHA 10-hour certification
- DDC Water Main Training, NJSAT, ACI, and Rutgers TCC certifications (desirable)
- Knowledge of Ebuilder or SiteManager (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills
- Physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains
- Ability to repetitively stoop, bend at the knees and waist, squat, and lift 25 lbs
- Ability to stand for long periods on varied surfaces
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Pay
The projected hourly rate for this position is $53.00 to $85.00, depending on skills, experience, location, and market conditions.
