Chief Construction Inspector

About the role

The Chief Construction Inspector will review job specifications, plans, field work methods, costs, and supervise inspectors on the job site to verify compliance with contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Review job specifications, plans, field work methods, costs, and supervise inspectors on the job site to verify compliance with contract documents.
• Possess NICET IV Certification in Transportation/Highway and Bridge Construction or equivalent.
• Possess DDC Water Main Training, NJSAT, ACI and Rutgers TCC certifications and knowledge of Ebuilder.
• Physically able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and terrains.
• Ability to repetitively stoop, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 25 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes, in addition to ability to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years prior construction inspection experience on NYCDDC or NYSTA projects.
• Possess NICET II, III or IV Certification in Transportation/Highway and Bridge Construction or equivalent.
• OSHA 10 hour certification.
• Possess DDC Water Main Training, NJSAT, ACI and Rutgers TCC certifications and knowledge of SiteManager.
• Excellent communications skills.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations.

Pay

The projected hourly rate for this position is $53.00 to $85.00. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
