Chief - Child Protection Team Division

Job Description

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine is seeking a Division Chief of Child Protection to lead and develop a comprehensive Child Protection Team (CPT) program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and clinical leadership for the Division of Child Protection and Child Abuse Pediatrics program.
  • Develop, expand, and sustain a comprehensive, multidisciplinary child protection program aligned with institutional and state priorities.
  • Oversee clinical services, including inpatient and outpatient consultation for suspected abuse and neglect.
  • Foster collaborations with state agencies, legal systems, law enforcement, and community partners.
  • Lead efforts in program innovation, quality improvement, and outcomes evaluation.
  • Support and mentor faculty, trainees, and interdisciplinary staff.
  • Contribute to the academic mission through teaching, scholarship, and service.
  • Participate in departmental and college leadership initiatives.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO, or equivalent.
  • Board certification in Pediatrics from the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP).
  • Subspecialty board certification or eligibility in Child Abuse Pediatrics (ABP).
  • Eligibility for Florida medical licensure.
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership and program development.
  • Strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration, education, and advocacy.
