About the Role
Cabinet-level position responsible for overseeing business services, fiscal planning, and compliance within the school district.
Responsibilities
- Maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
- Handle matters in a tactful, courteous, and confidential manner to establish and maintain good public relations.
- Articulate Business Services legal issues clearly both orally and in written form.
- Ensure compliance with applicable State and Federal laws, regulations, and requirements governing Business Services.
- Analyze complex situations and prepare response alternatives for consideration by the Cabinet and Board of Education.
- Address confrontation assertively yet empathetically, communicating both strength and compassion.
- Multitask complex situations with potential serious legal and fiscal implications.
- Apply knowledge of business and fiscal administration, accounting principles, budgeting, and school finance procedures.
- Formulate plans and policies; organize, coordinate, and direct the work of others; delegate responsibility; evaluate and supervise personnel.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Four years of professional management experience in a responsible administration position performing management, business, and/or fiscal planning and support services.
- Chief Business Official (CBO) Certification from CASBO or ACSA.
- Valid California driver’s license; must remain insurable under California state requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in business administration or a related field.
- Public school (K-12) business operations experience or related public agency experience.
Required Documents
- Copy of undergraduate degree certificate.
- CBO Certification from CASBO or ACSA.
- Copy of valid California driver’s license.
- Letter of interest (Letter of Introduction).
- Three letters of recommendation signed and dated within one year.
- Resume.
Pay
Competitive and negotiable, dependent on experience.
Schedule
- Full-time, 12-month position.
