Chicago Academic After-School Tutor

What You Will Be Doing

• Provide students with homework help, check work, subject tutoring, and assist with test preparation
• Teach math, grammar, and reading using LinkIt, Moby Max, and Edmentum Apex Learning
• Train in teaching methods
• Enrich students' knowledge and academic skills through enrichment activities
• Supervise students as an authority figure or “manage” student groups

Basic Requirements

• Covid-19 vaccination
• Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work
• At least 20 years of age
• A high school diploma or equivalent (with preference for candidates with at least two years of study at an institution of higher education)
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• One year of youth camp experience, early childhood education, or related experience in roles such as: College Tutor or Teacher Assistant, Coach or mentor, Camp Counselor, or Youth Activity Leader
• Successfully complete and pass a national criminal background check (including fingerprinting, employment verification, and verification of education)

Pay

$30/hr

Schedule

After-school 4-hour shift, Monday to Thursday
