About the Role

Candidates selected to fill the role of Chemistry Teacher in our Alternative Learning Program (ALP) at Wayzata High School will be given the great responsibility of continuing our long-standing commitment to academic excellence. This will be achieved through the design and delivery of Chemistry instruction that ensures the success of a diverse population of learners. In addition, you will be responsible for building positive relationships and working collaboratively with students, parents, and staff members to foster a positive experience for the entire learning community.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver Chemistry instruction tailored to a diverse population of learners.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Maintain a positive learning environment through strong classroom management.
  • Utilize current technology to support communication, academics, and student progress monitoring.

Requirements

  • Valid MN License in High School Chemistry (9-12, function code 130301).
  • Experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated strategies that support diverse learners (ideal but not required).
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Proficiency with current technology used in education.

Pay

Compensation Range: $52,308 - $123,452 (depending on education and experience). See the Wayzata Education Association Contract for more information.
