Chemistry Teacher

Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans and deliver engaging chemistry instruction aligned with district and state standards.
• Teach multiple sections of chemistry, assess student learning through assignments and evaluations, and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain a safe and well-organized laboratory environment, supervise hands-on experiments, and ensure adherence to all safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Chemistry Education expertise and strong content knowledge in chemistry.
• Lesson Planning and Teaching skills for structuring effective, engaging instruction.
• Communication skills for clear explanations, feedback, and collaboration with students, families, and colleagues.
• Foundational understanding of Physics to support interdisciplinary science learning.
• Relevant teaching certification or eligibility for certification in science/chemistry in Connecticut.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Science Education, or a closely related field; advanced degree is a plus.
• Experience with classroom management and creating inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments.
• Ability to integrate technology and laboratory activities to enhance student engagement and understanding.
