About the role

The Chemistry Teacher position at Lawndale HSC is available for the 2026-2027 school year. This role requires a valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential: Chemistry Sciences with English Learner Authorization.

Responsibilities

• Teach Chemistry and Physics to high school students
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards
• Assess student learning through various methods including quizzes, tests, and projects
• Collaborate with colleagues to provide a comprehensive educational experience
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills

Requirements

• Valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential: Chemistry Sciences with English Learner Authorization
• Strong preference for applicants with a dual credential in Chemistry and Physics
• Intern eligibility considered with proof of eligibility from the program
• PIP/STSP eligibility considered with proof of eligibility
• May be assigned to a co-teaching assignment

Qualifications

• At least 3 letters of recommendation dated within the last 24 months, at least one from a supervisor/administrator
• Required attachments: Copy/Screenshot of current, valid California Teaching Credential from the CTC website, English Learner Authorization, Copy of CBEST test result or equivalent, Copy of Official Transcripts, Letter of Introduction/Cover Letter, Resume
