About the role
The Chemistry Teacher position at Lawndale HSC is available for the 2026-2027 school year. This role requires a valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential: Chemistry Sciences with English Learner Authorization.
Responsibilities
- Teach Chemistry and Physics to high school students
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards
- Assess student learning through various methods including quizzes, tests, and projects
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide a comprehensive educational experience
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills
Requirements
- Valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential: Chemistry Sciences with English Learner Authorization
- Strong preference for applicants with a dual credential in Chemistry and Physics
- Intern eligibility considered with proof of eligibility from the program
- PIP/STSP eligibility considered with proof of eligibility
- May be assigned to a co-teaching assignment
Qualifications
- At least 3 letters of recommendation dated within the last 24 months, at least one from a supervisor/administrator
- Required attachments: Copy/Screenshot of current, valid California Teaching Credential from the CTC website, English Learner Authorization, Copy of CBEST test result or equivalent, Copy of Official Transcripts, Letter of Introduction/Cover Letter, Resume
