Chemistry Teacher - .25 Time, August 2026 - June 2027

About the role

The College Preparatory School, an independent high school in Oakland, California, seeks a 0.25 time Chemistry teacher beginning in August 2026. This teacher would teach one section of Physical Chemistry during the Fall semester and one section of Organic Chemistry during the Spring semester. Each class will have about 14-16 students.

Responsibilities

- Teach Physical and Organic Chemistry - Prepare and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the curriculum - Facilitate hands-on experiments and demonstrations - Collaborate with colleagues in the science department - Engage with students outside of the classroom to support their academic and personal growth

Requirements

Faculty at College Prep are compensated according to a step scale based on years of experience that ranges from $74,000 for teachers with no prior relevant experience to $148,500 for teachers with 44 years of prior experience.

Schedule

0.25 time teaching position, teaching two sections of Chemistry per year.
