About The Role

We're looking for Chemistry Specialists with advanced degrees to design, solve, and evaluate challenging chemistry problems — helping the next generation of AI think like a real scientist. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers and academics who want to apply their expertise in a new and high-impact way. No prior AI experience needed — just rigorous scientific knowledge and a sharp analytical mind.

What You'll Do

  • Design and develop advanced chemistry problems across organic, inorganic, physical, or computational chemistry — with real-world scientific relevance
  • Solve and review complex problem sets, ensuring scientific accuracy, depth, and clarity
  • Apply your domain expertise to challenge and improve AI model reasoning in chemistry
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts
  • Evaluate AI-generated chemistry content and flag errors, gaps, or oversimplifications
  • Ensure all deliverables meet high standards of scientific rigor and communication

Qualifications

  • Hold a Master's or PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field
  • Deep expertise in one or more areas: organic, inorganic, physical, or computational chemistry
  • Comfortable working with Python or computational chemistry tools such as Gaussian or VASP
  • Exceptionally clear written communicator — you can explain complex chemistry concisely
  • Detail-oriented with a systematic, methodical approach to problem-solving
  • Self-motivated and reliable when working independently and asynchronously

Nice to Have

  • Experience with data annotation, evaluation systems, or quality assessment workflows
  • Background in academic research, scientific publishing, or curriculum development
  • Familiarity with AI tools or machine learning concepts
  • Experience designing problem sets, exams, or instructional chemistry content

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside the world's leading AI research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work
  • Make a direct, tangible impact on how AI understands and applies chemistry
  • Put your advanced degree to work in a high-value, intellectually stimulating role
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
