Chemistry Instructor-Full-time Faculty-Tenure-Track
General Information & Responsibilities
Black Hawk College seeks a full-time, tenure track Chemistry Instructor. This position will begin with the fall semester in August 2025.
The primary teaching load (lab and lecture) will be in-person on the Black Hawk College East Campus in Galva, IL. If needed, classes may also be taught in additional modalities and/or on the Quad Cities campus in Moline, IL.
Description of Duties
- Prepare appropriate syllabi
- Develop lectures, discussions, and other presentations or activities to enhance the students' educational experience
- Evaluate students' performance using appropriate methods
- Develop, secure, and maintain the equipment and other instructional materials essential to the presentation of classroom material
Education & Experience
- M.S. or M.A. in Chemistry is required
- Teaching experience and industrial experience in chemistry is preferred
- Demonstrated oral English proficiency for classroom instruction is required

This position is open until filled. The minimum starting salary for full-time faculty for the 2025-2026 academic year is $50,036.
Full-time faculty have a base contract of 9 months and are paid over 12 months per year. Base load is based on 30 equated hours per academic year. Starting salary is commensurate with education and experience.
