Chemist Lab Technician

Amentum is seeking a detail-oriented researcher to apply chemical markings and detection techniques in a laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

• Use a range of techniques, software, and equipment to carry out scientifically rigorous research, analysis, and reporting.
• Apply knowledge of chemical markings and detection techniques tailored to specific requirements.
• Identify and utilize materials and detection systems that meet customer requirements.
• Evaluate technical reports from outside vendors for suitability.
• Support field collection and analysis requirements.

Work Environment

• Office environment with some climbing and unassisted lifting up to 30 lbs. potentially required.

Requirements

• B.S. in Chemistry or similar field.
• 2 years of experience working in a laboratory environment.
• Active Top Secret security clearance with ability to pass a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with spectroscopy.
• Work experience with material markings, spectral analysis, and optical filtration techniques.
• Laboratory experience using spectroscopic techniques for analysis and identification of materials.
• Experience with ENVI+IDL image and spectral processing software.

Pay

US $70,000 - $75,000 per year.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
