Chemist

Responsibilities

• Work in cross-functional teams to develop new coatings technologies and evaluate new polymers
• Design and execute experiments for paints and coatings formulations and testing to meet targeted objectives
• Document and summarize experimental results in electronic lab notebooks
• Analyze data, report results, and recommend next steps
• Use analytical tools to solve problems and find solutions
• Participate in plant scale ups
• Collaborate with Procurement for evaluating new and alternate materials
• Manage raw materials for the lab
• Maintain lab equipment and shared work space
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry or related field
• Two or more years of working experience in a chemistry lab
• Knowledge of paint, coatings, and related raw materials
• Efficient at summarizing technical data and presenting results
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously
• Self-starter and ability to take initiative and drive toward results
• Attention to detail and scientific rigor
• Comfortable working in teams, sharing data, and communicating effectively
• Extremely organized
