Chemist
Position Summary
The Research Chemist is responsible for PR&D projects, beginning at costing through conclusion or scale-up. Chemists work in both a team and individual capacity to ensure customer satisfaction through safe channels.
Responsibilities
- Must be familiar with a wide range of chemical reactions/protocols
- Plan, price, execute, and report on chemical research project or synthetic campaigns
- Anticipate and predict chemical safety hazards
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, product teams, and academic institutions
- Oversee research projects from inception to completion, ensuring methodologies, data collection, and analysis are rigorous and valid
- Must be knowledgeable in various analytical methods/apparatus
- Develop approaches to resolve clients, and internal issues/projects
- Perform bench work and scale up work as needed
- Resolve operational and analyst issues, including on nights and weekends
- Procure operational materials
- Participate in company meetings as directed
- Continually look for and recommend leadership process, product, and productivity improvements
- Other miscellaneous duties as requested from time to time.
Required Experience & Knowledge
- Specific Experience (Required): 5+ years of experience in research
- Strong knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
- Experience in data analysis, statistical modelling, and research tools
- Other Experience/Competencies (Preferred): Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively across teams; Familiarity with research compliance, ethics, and regulatory standards; Comfortable working in a fast-paced cross-functional team; Highly detail-oriented and organized; Effective communication with peers and interdepartmental colleagues; Track record of published research or patents; Experience in developing proposals and securing technical or innovation funding from external partners or agencies

Compensation
The salary range for the position of Research Chemist is $70,000 - $120,000. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity and other factors as permitted by law.
