Chemist and Chemical Engineer

Perform professional engineering and scientific work involving chemical processes utilized by industries and scientific technologies to produce products and systems. Apply specific functional knowledge, including working and general industry knowledge. Develop or contribute to solutions for a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work independently with some guidance, and review or guide activities of more junior employees.

Responsibilities

• Apply expertise in chemistry and chemical engineering to support industrial or government projects.

• Work independently while providing guidance to junior team members.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in a chemical industry or government role.
• Experience in chemistry.
• Knowledge of energetic materials.
• Secret clearance (applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation).
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in an industry or government role.
• Experience with material processing.
• Experience in energetic formulations.
• Knowledge of weapon systems.
• Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.

Pay

Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD).

Schedule

This role may follow one of the following work models:

• Remote: Primarily virtual, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
• Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer sites as needed.
• Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers.

Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
