Chemicals Technology Manager

About the role

As a Chemicals Technology Manager with a primary focus on Acetic Acid technology, you will support the licensing, delivery, and growth of KBR’s Chemicals technology portfolio. The portfolio focuses on licensing technology to produce intermediates and products from C2, C3, and C4 olefinic feeds, including Phenol/Acetone, BPA, Polycarbonate, Acetic Acid, Vinyl Acetate, and Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC). You will support business development within the Petrochemicals Product Service Line (PSL).

Responsibilities

• Support the achievement of the Chemicals business annual sales objectives, with emphasis on Acetic Acid.
• Provide technical support for the creation and delivery of proposals, ensuring Sales Coordination can rapidly respond to sales requests, including studies and assessments.
• Work with Operations and the BED Team to support the achievement of annual earnings targets and successful project delivery.
• Collaborate with Chemicals leadership and Sales & Marketing to develop customer profiles, go-to-market strategies, and global analysis.
• Support Regional Sales throughout the entire sales process, including business development, proposal, and negotiation phases.
• Support the growth of the Chemicals Technology portfolio through alliances, acquisitions, and improvements of existing technologies via market and competitive analysis.
• Demonstrate a strong record of safety and commitment to compliance with all laws, regulations, and corporate policies, including KBR’s Code of Business Conduct and anti-corruption policies.
• Uphold organizational excellence, displaying honesty, integrity, and a strong sense of ethics in all decisions and actions.

Requirements

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering (or related discipline).
• Minimum of 15 years in Chemicals technical and/or operations experience in the hydrocarbons processing industry, preferably with global licensing experience.
• Experience specifying technical offerings and/or processing engineering services.
• Relevant technology experience in KBR’s Chemicals technology offerings.
• 7+ years of experience with Acetic Acid.
• Growth-oriented professional with a proven ability to execute Technology growth strategies and a successful track record in business development.
• Ability to understand and participate in technology management, including support to regional Sales, proposal development, contract negotiation, and project execution.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communications skills.
• International work background.
• Willingness and availability to travel internationally (~50% as needed).

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA (preferred).
• Technical experience with Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM).
