About the role

Fujifilm Dimatix, Inc. is seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to support production's chemical usage in a 24/7 MEMS manufacturing environment. This position is part of a team focused on innovation and excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Supports production’s chemical usage in a 24/7 MEMS manufacturing environment.
  • Bi-weekly auditing of the chemical inventory and all phases of virgin chemical and hazardous waste movement.
  • Empty and refill wet sinks per the current Repour schedule and address quality issues.
  • Champion EH&S issues and concerns, maintaining necessary records, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Work with procurement and inventory control to audit and maintain chemical inventory levels.
  • Monitor chemical consumption in the Fab during the shift and plan for incoming shifts based on production demands.
  • Deliver and stock chemicals accordingly, ensuring proper labeling and storage of chemical and waste containers.
  • Ensure hazardous waste is disposed of according to regulations and maintain records.
  • Handle, segregate, pack, and label hazardous waste according to Hazardous Waste Profile and prepare for shipment.
  • Coordinate hazardous waste pickups, interface with vendors, and submit blue manifests to DTSC.
  • Audit all chemical and hazardous waste areas daily and document audits weekly.
  • Audit and document fire extinguishers, storm water drains, eye washes, and safety showers monthly.
  • Drive a forklift and possess the ability to use drum handling hardware.
  • Support EH&S in meeting regulatory requirements, assist in identifying and correcting discrepancies, and drive the Emergency Response Team.
  • Manage multiple priorities while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
  • Understand and interpret relevant policies clearly and accurately.
  • Wear appropriate PPE including a chemical cartridge respirator as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High-school diploma or equivalent, with an applicable Associates degree preferred.
  • 2 to 4 years of related experience or an applicable Associates degree with 2 years experience.
  • DOT, HAZMAT Technician and Forklift certifications are required.
  • First Aid, CPR, AED, and IATA certifications are desirable but not required.
  • Ability and willingness to perform repetitive physical labor while wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Available to work a compressed workweek schedule.
  • Team player and self-starter with strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Good computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office software.
  • Physical capability to wear a chemical cartridge respirator and cleanroom apparel.

Skills

  • Substantial understanding of the job, applying knowledge and skills to complete tasks.
  • Experience in chemical handling, DOT, Forklift, and HAZMAT certification.
  • Environmental Health and Safety experience.

Pay and Schedule

The pay rate for this position is $25.00 - $30.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. The schedule is a Compressed Work Week - Back End Days - Every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday, from 5:30 am to 6:00 pm.
