About the role
The Doe Run Company is seeking a Chemical Technician to prepare, analyze, and report quality data results on production, exploration, R&D, and environmental samples to support operational, customer, and regulatory standards. This position is based in the Quentin J Schmidt Lab in Viburnum, MO.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and report results for samples collected from production, exploration, R&D, and environmental following established methods and quality standards.
- Calibrate, operate, and maintain lab instrumentation in accordance with standard procedures and manufacturer recommendations; recognize and troubleshoot issues as needed.
- Ensure data meets accuracy and quality requirements, maintaining proper documentation and data integrity for all assigned sample streams.
- Record and maintain accurate analytical data and assay results in accordance with laboratory standards to support overall operational and leadership objectives.
- Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health, and safety) policies, procedures, and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Frequent exposure to personal protective equipment, including but not limited to, a respirator, hearing protection, foot protection and eyewear, and work near moving, mechanical parts.
- Occasionally exposed to extreme heat/cold (non-weather), wet humid (non-weather), and outdoor conditions.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands/arms, and perform repetitive movements.
- Frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally required to lift up to 75 pounds; rarely required to lift up to 100 pounds.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience utilizing lab equipment; as a chemist or chemical technician preferred.
- A basic understanding of sample prep and analysis procedures preferred.
- A basic knowledge of quality control standards.
- Basic organizational skills.
Skills
- Computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.), Databases, I-Series, and PeopleSoft.

- 80 hours vacation after 90 days.
Pay
$20.12/hour with a 5% targeted monthly bonus.
