Position Summary
We’re looking for a skilled and dependable Chemical Spray Technician to join our Maintenance Division. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the safe and effective application of herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers at various client sites using calibrated spray equipment. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently while maintaining a professional and organized approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, and plant growth regulators in accordance with labels and regulations
- Operate and maintain application equipment including spray trucks, hose reels, tractors, and gators
- Calibrate spray equipment to ensure accurate chemical distribution
- Maintain accurate spray logs, chemical usage records, and daily timecards
- Train and oversee hose pullers/helpers when assigned
- Ensure care and inventory of vehicles, tools, and spray equipment
- Communicate with field and account managers on scheduling, safety, and site needs
- Assist with plant fertilization and watering as needed
- Follow all local/state pesticide laws and company safety procedures
- Physically able to carry up to 50 lbs, pull hoses (300+ ft), and wear backpack sprayers for extended periods
Qualifications
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Valid Qualified Applicator License (QAL)
- 3+ years of experience in plant/tree healthcare or chemical applications (Preferred but Not Required)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) (Preferred but Not Required)
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word) and familiarity with mobile/GPS tools (Preferred but Not Required)
- Experience in landscaping or related field (Preferred but Not Required)
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Regular outdoor work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)
- Frequent walking, kneeling, climbing, and lifting
- Repetitive motion and long periods of standing
- Must pass DOT physical and drug screening
