Chemical Quality Lab Tech

Responsibilities

• Conduct chemical and physical analyses of raw material, intermediates, finished products, and water samples in accordance with ISO 9001 standard and the Ethox Quality System.
• Perform headspace GC testing to evaluate 1, 4-dioxane, ethylene oxide, and propylene oxide.
• Troubleshoot analytical methods and laboratory equipment, documenting findings and communicating results to supervision.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment following 5S and established safety procedures.
• Prepare and maintain laboratory records in compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory instruments to ensure proper functionality.
• Support environmental, health, and safety programs, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform round-robin studies, manage lab samples, and complete other job-related tasks and projects as assigned.
• Promote a professional and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor degree in Chemistry or related scientific discipline
• 3 – 5 years of analytical laboratory experience with strong understanding of chemical laboratory operations
• Proficiency with analytical instrumentation (GC, titrators, condensers, Karl Fischer, TOC analyzer, etc.); willingness to pursue external training as needed
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, Power Point)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to successfully interface with customers, associates, and the community
• Able to analyze data, make informed decisions, and propose process improvements
• Strong attention to detail, ability to follow complex requests, and perform effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
• Able to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays as business needs permit

Physical Requirements

• Physical ability to perform the essential job functions of the position, which includes prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer performing repetitive hand movement and fine coordination, occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
