Chemical Process Technican IV

Location: Lenexa, KS (Onsite)

About the Role

As a Chemical Process Technician IV, you will operate automatic and/or manual equipment to process manufacturing batches of bulk materials/ingredients, including mechanical processing (e.g., mixing, grinding, separating, filtering) and chemical processing (altering chemical properties through reactions, temperature, or pressure changes) in accordance with operating procedures. You will also bond dissimilar materials, perform surface finishing (e.g., washing, painting, plating, anti-corrosion coating, hardening, polishing, engraving), and monitor/verify product quality using statistical processes or other control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work under direct supervision with limited discretion, following instructions for new assignments or activities.
• Apply technical principles, theories, and job skills to complete assigned tasks using existing procedures.
• Achieve day-to-day objectives with moderate impact on team results, referring complex issues to higher levels.
• Operate production equipment per manufacturer specifications and established procedures.
• Review pre-production activities to advance processes to production.
• Inspect parts for defects and perform quality control procedures to ensure products meet company standards.
• Maintain work site in accordance with established safety measures.
• Manage inventory for production materials and order supplies as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and adhere to processes to ensure quality standards are met.
• Provide feedback to supervisors about team performance, training needs, or line issues.
• Escalate nonconformances, hazards, or equipment issues to supervisors.
• Ensure operators follow safety rules, PPE use, and standard work procedures.
• Gather information from the previous day and update boards.
• Distribute work assignments to operators based on the plan.
• Provide hour-by-hour updates and address deviations with supervisors.

Requirements

• High school diploma (or equivalent, e.g., G.E.D.) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience inspecting parts.
• Previous experience managing inventory.
• Demonstrated proficiency in effective leadership.

Environment, Health & Safety

This position requires work in a chemical manufacturing environment with routine use of Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR), chemical protective clothing, gloves, boots, and other required PPE. Must meet respiratory protection program requirements, including medical evaluation.
