BAE Systems, one of the world’s leading defense contractors and a stable Fortune 500 Company, is hiring Explosive Plant Operators in the Castables area at the Holston Army Ammunition Plant in Kingsport, TN. This is a permanent, on-site position.

Responsibilities
- Monitor equipment in operation buildings
- Weigh and sample material
- Shovel blend material
- Use respirators
- Package, dry, and transport material
Requirements
Physical Demands
- Work regularly with lightweight to average weight material
- Handle up to sixty (60) pounds
- Maneuver drums
- Climb multiple levels of stairs
Mental and Visual Demands
- Frequent mental and visual attention
- Intermittent workflow or waiting for machine/process completion
- Process checking
Working Conditions
- Somewhat disagreeable working conditions
- Exposure to seasonal conditions
- Required PPE: coveralls, safety shoes, and other protective equipment
- 12-hour rotating shifts
- Tobacco-free facility
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience in inventory movement
- Experience operating a PLC computer system
- Fork truck experience
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $32,730 – $52,369
