Compounding Associate
The Visual Pak Companies are aligned with major consumer product companies in various industries. We are seeking innovative and dedicated individuals to join our team. The Compounding Associate position requires a flexible skill set including manufacturing quality batches, supporting supervisors, and managing other staff.
Responsibilities
- Follow Hazardous Material and Handling Procedures and undergo initial and annual training.
- Able to blend and transfer heated and cooled batches, as well as emulsified batches, in accordance with manufacturing instructions, SOPs, and GMPs.
- Perform related duties and projects as assigned by management.
- Work with the Compounding Coordinator to establish and implement directives for compounding and production.
- Safely load and unload tankers, totes, and drums to holding tanks for production.
- Monitor pressure gauges and flow meters, and adjust valves to regulate speed and pressure.
- Weigh specified raw materials using manual scales, according to formulas.
- Collect samples for lab analysis and record product temperatures, quantities, and levels in storage tanks.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of mixing and storage tanks.
- Complete required batch documentation records efficiently.
- Adhere to 5S and safety policies and procedures.
- Train new compounding associates.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED - required
- Associate degree in relevant field - preferred
- 3-5 years’ experience blending and mixing raw materials in a manufacturing setting
- Ability to comprehend GMPs, SOPs, and identify compliance and non-compliance
- Basic mathematical skills and experience with the metric system
- Basic knowledge of operating air, electric, and mill pumps
- Prior experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing setting
- Technology/Software Proficiency: Microsoft Word and Excel, ERP system in a manufacturing environment (plus)
- Communication: Solid English reading and comprehension skills to understand detailed SOPs, formulas, and Manufacturing Instructions
- Physical Capabilities: Adapt to temperature and environmental extremes, lift up to 50 lbs, move standing, sitting, crouching, crawling, wear full-body protective wear for sustained periods, hear and understand work direction in a loud, distracting environment, see details and judge distance, view computer screen regularly
