Responsibilities
- Operate equipment and perform manual tasks according to established procedures.
- Move between Chemical Operations as needed to meet production needs, work off backlogs, or cover workforce shortages.
- Assist other operators as instructed by the department Team Manager.
- Help troubleshoot or solve problems with experienced operators.
- All responsibilities performed following operating procedures.
Areas for Chemical Operator
- CONVERSION
- Package UO2 powder from the conversion process, maintaining item control.
- Download UO2 powder from bulk containers to polypacks, maintaining item control.
- URRS
- Operate the Assay Meters, Metal Detector, Honing Booth, Ultrasonic Cleaning System, Parts Washer, Shredder and Sorting Hood.
- Disassemble HEPA filters.
- Clean and re-valve UF6 cylinders.
- Receive, unpack, repackage and ship recycled material and containers including generation of records.
- PELLETING
- Perform powder prepping.
- Operate the press, sintering furnaces and grinder.
- Stack blanket pellets.
- Perform D&V inspection of pellets.
- ALL AREAS
- Oxidize uranium-bearing materials in oxidation ovens.
- Clean filter presses and change cartridge and bag filters.
- Screen debris from uranium-bearing materials.
- Perform housekeeping including mopping, manual wiping and painting and other routine tasks as assigned.
- Clean parts and equipment before maintenance work or disposal.
- Perform item control transactions and audits.
- Follow accountability, criticality, safety, security, and hygiene procedures.
- Absorb and assist operators in performing routine tasks as assigned.
- Complete training.
- Move product and materials as directed by others.
- Assist other operators as directed by team manager or higher level operator.
- Perform any other work specifically assigned by the Manager.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 0-6 months of experience preferred
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience preferred
- We prefer a Wastewater License
- Safety 1st Attitude; Ability to Perform Procedure-Based Work; Mechanical Aptitude; Problem Solving;
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements:

Benefits
