Chemical Operator

Location: Bowling Green, OH • Direct Hire • Full Benefits

Pay: $24 per hour + $1.00 shift differential with potential pay increases

Schedule: 3rd Shift (10:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Responsibilities

• Ensure standard operating procedures are followed and reviewed
• Complete batch records
• Pull correct raw materials for fermentation
• Assist in monitoring fermentation inventory
• Assist in downstream processing of fermentors (centrifugation, spray drying)
• Assist in preventative maintenance of fermentation equipment
• Maintain a clean, organized, hazard-free department
• Operate forklifts as required
• Batch media for fermentation runs
• Perform SIP and CIP of fermentors
• Work odd shifts as required
• Label fermentation vessel pipes and valves
• Participate in safety training programs
• Monitor in-process fermentation
• Assist with microscopic observation of bacteria (e.g., harvest of batch)
• Ensure fermentation equipment is labeled
• Use autoclave for fermentation addition bottles (e.g., acid, base, defoamer bottles)
• Assist in training new technicians
• Apply strong knowledge of pressure vessels, pumps, and valve operations (pneumatic and hand valves)
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
• Perform basic sampling

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Outlook
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work odd shifts and overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Chemical Operator experience
• Confined space training
• Lock Out Tag Out training
• Experience working with boilers
• Experience working with PLCs and HMI
