Chemical Operator, alternating days/nights, 12 hour shift/7 day off rotation

About the role

Our site in Riegelwood, NC is seeking a Chemical Operator II to join our team. In this role, you will be working in a high volume manufacturing environment which includes but not limited to sampling raw materials, packaging finished goods for shipment, and maintaining equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate pumps, valves, and other miscellaneous equipment as required to complete the production process in a safe manner that protects both personnel and equipment
• Independently transfer raw materials from storage containers to reaction vessels while maintaining an accurate record of materials used in the production of product
• Follow written work instructions for batch production
• Maintain accurate records of all significant information regarding the process including temperature, pressure, weights, lot numbers, and deviations
• Perform minor routine maintenance as required
• Operate a forklift
• Sample in‑process reactions in a safe manner
• Develop a good working knowledge of basic chemical practice including distillation (vacuum & atmospheric), washes, extractions and filtrations
• Interact well with coworkers and supervisors regarding concerns and potential process and/or safety improvements
• Other functions as requested by management
