Chemical Operator 3 - 1st Shift

About the role

The Chemical Operator 3 or Tank Farm Operator is responsible for safely overseeing and executing all chlorine unloading, storage, and handling operations within the tank farm. This role ensures strict compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations while maintaining efficient material flow to support production. This is a 1st shift position with shift hours being Monday‑Thursday 6:00 am‑4:00 pm with overtime on Fridays as needed. The facility is located in Ludlow, MA 01056.

Responsibilities

• Perform the safe offloading of chlorine from railcars, tankers, or other delivery systems, ensuring adherence to all established procedures and safety protocols.
• Maintain full compliance with OSHA, EPA, DHS, and other applicable regulations, including Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) requirements.
• Enforce strict adherence to PPE and safety procedures.
• Oversee daily tank farm activities including storage, transfer, and inventory management of chlorine and related chemicals.
• Serve as a first responder for chlorine‑related incidents, ensuring proper execution of emergency procedures, leak response, and evacuation protocols.
• Coordinate inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs of tanks, piping, valves, scrubbers, and monitoring systems to ensure safe and reliable operations.
• Track and reconcile chlorine inventory levels.
• Ensure accurate completion of logs, manifests, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
