Chemical Operator 1 Job

POSITION SUMMARY

Preform operator duties at the Ashland, Ohio facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow all Safety Rules, Regulations, Operating Procedures, Corporate/Plant Policies and Laws always.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds safely.
• Safely operate an industrial lift truck (sit down and stand up).
• Compounding and staging of raw materials.
• Blending of chemicals and powders.
• Charging liquid chemicals and powders to mixers.
• Monitoring mixers during mixing and reaction.
• Using distributed control systems to control and monitor process.
• Labeling and filling containers with product.
• Taking samples of powder and liquids to ensure product quality, staging empty containers, maintaining satisfactory housekeeping standards, preparing equipment for maintenance.
• Safely handling industrial chemicals using established safe plant procedures and processes.
• Accurately completing shop floor paperwork in both written and electronic format.
• Using computerized MRP system.
• Participating in company safety meetings and training.
• Working 2nd or 3rd shift.
• Frequent overtime (12 hour shifts).

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a high school Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be safety conscious, reliable, and have a strong work ethic.
• Minimum of one year of hands-on manufacturing experience desired; chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
• Must be computer literate and have good math skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Pass a pre-employment physical, drug test and background check.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
