About the role

This position involves safely handling shipments and transfers of raw materials, chemical intermediates, and final products at the ALTIVIA Oxide Chemicals site in Crosby, TX. The role requires operating materials handling equipment, completing accurate shipping documentation, and supporting plant operations in a chemical manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely and correctly load, unload, and transfer raw materials and final products with an understanding of associated hazards, PPE requirements, and DOT regulations.
• Load and unload ISOtainers, tank trucks, railcars, totes, and drums.
• Understand and adhere to standard operating procedures.
• Properly complete all required safety, maintenance, and shipping paperwork, including Bills of Lading, and ensure proper placarding for outgoing shipments.
• Complete and maintain all safety training and attend training meetings.
• Operate forklifts, fifth-wheel trucks, and other equipment.
• Safely pull samples, perform basic QC tests, and communicate or respond to lab results.
• Communicate effectively with other operators and supervisors using accurate and precise information.
• Regularly perform housekeeping duties.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent; Process Technology degree and/or relevant work experience preferred.
• Willing and able to work a flexible shift schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Basic math skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team, follow supervisor directions, and prioritize tasks.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds between floor and waist height (equipment, materials, etc.).
• Stand, walk, and climb stairways and ladders as needed to move throughout the facilities.
• Function in a variety of outdoor weather conditions.
• Willing and able to participate on the emergency response team.
