About the role
As the facilities Process/Mechanical Engineering Owner’s Representative, you will work on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ manufacturing in Boise, ID. You and the other team members will work closely with client owners in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. In this role, you will work on the client’s behalf to review designs, specs, and drawings—providing feedback and comments. The successful candidate will interface with client and site personnel, driving design and construction documents through the review process with a team.
Responsibilities
- Establish design requirements and produce construction documents for the installation of complex manufacturing tools and facilities infrastructure mechanical systems.
- Design and oversight for piping systems, including equipment water, wastewater, process chemicals, and gasses in complex, densely packed industrial facilities.
- Retrofit existing building systems, including engineering calculations, equipment and component sizing, selection, and specification.
- Support during construction and integration into the factory.
- Edit client specifications and standards as the Process chemical/mechanical representative on a multi-discipline design team.
- Review design packages consisting of P&IDs, layout drawings, details, and equipment plans.
- Review vendor submittals, RFIs, and construction documents.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- At least 2 years of practical application of chemical/mechanical facilities engineering, including ultrapure water, chemical distribution, gas distribution, process piping, exhaust, plumbing, waste drains, pumps, tank storage/design, and related systems.
- At least 2 years of design project delivery processes experience.
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience working with complex semiconductor manufacturing tools, either their manufacture, installation, or use in cleanrooms.
- Proficient working knowledge of AutoCAD software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Forward-thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base.
- Passion for buildings and construction.
- 1 year of field experience.
- EIT or PE license.
Other Requirements
- This is primarily a remote position. Successful candidate will need to work onsite for 50% of the first month, thereafter reducing to one week onsite per month.
- Position requires field visits and walks at an active client site in various stages of construction. Applicant must be able to walk long distances, sit and stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, climb ladders, work on catwalks, work in small spaces, lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Applicant must complete a background check, drug screen, and be fully authorized to work for any client in the United States. Jacobs will not sponsor or continue a visa for this position.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $91,400.00 to $125,600.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
