Chemical Engineer II

About the role

Battelle’s National Security Business Line seeks a Chemical Engineer to support the technical team in executing RDT&E efforts related to expeditionary energy technologies for the Air Force Civil Engineer Center at Tyndall Air Force Base, near Panama City, FL.

Responsibilities

• Compile technical specifications and analyze technical data.
• Determine appropriate analysis methods and identify problems.
• Develop and implement solutions for RDT&E efforts.
• Develop and execute test plans and experimentation protocols.
• Conduct technology assessment studies.
• Present research results, prepare technical reports, publications, and presentations.
• Manage ordering, receipt, and inventory of purchases, shipments, and equipment.
• Manage laboratory supplies and parts inventory.

Requirements

• BS in Chemical Engineering or equivalent with 2-4 years of relevant experience.
• Expert knowledge of LabVIEW and/or MATLAB.
• Knowledge of cluster modeling and neural network approaches to predict performance.
• Knowledge of battery chemistries, charge/discharge curves, SOC, SOH, and electrical impedance spectroscopy.
• Knowledge of corrosion, corrosion inhibitors, coatings, and coating test and evaluation.

Qualifications

• Proactive, self-starter who can work independently and in a team environment.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with MS Windows and Office.
• Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Skills
