Chemical Engineer Fall Intern

About the role

Chemours is seeking a Chemical Engineering Intern to join our Ore Technology team. This position will receive functional guidance from Scientists and Principal Investigators. The intern will work closely with the Titanium Technologies team, gaining valuable experience through hands-on projects in a laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Working with experienced R&D professionals on process technology developmental projects
• Participating in process safety management activities and reviews
• Lab work including the design, construction, operation, and optimization of lab-scale unit operations such as reactors, filters, ovens, mixers, pumps, etc.
• Supporting multiple projects with data analysis, data recordkeeping, and data sharing with team members
• Contributing to team meetings and conference calls
• Safe handling of chemicals and safe operation of chemical processes

Requirements

• Enrollment at an accredited college or university as a Junior or above at time of assignment
• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering or similar fields

Qualifications

• 3.0 GPA or above
• Previous experience (industrial or academic) with the following chemical processes: reaction engineering, thermodynamics, titration, filtration, and distillation
• Experience working with chemicals
• Hands-on experience with building laboratory setups
