Chemical Engineer

About the Role

Chemical engineer to support the Mechanical Project Design group at the Oak Ridge Y-12 Plant, providing process design support to the Lithium Processing Facility Project.

Responsibilities

• Participate in designs ranging from scope definition, feasibility and conceptual studies, to preliminary/detailed designs.
• Develop flowsheets, including block diagrams, process flow diagrams, and P&IDs.
• Perform analyses and calculations.
• Prepare reports, studies, and Process Descriptions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited university.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive professional experience in process design of complex nuclear or chemical facilities.

Experience Levels

• Level 3: BA/BS Degree plus 10-14 years of direct experience, or an MA or MS with 10-13 years of experience.
• Level 4: BA/BS Degree plus 15-20 years of direct experience, or an MA or MS with 14-18 years of experience.
• Level 5: BA/BS Degree plus 20 years of direct experience, or an MA or MS with 19 years of experience.
