- Prioritizes safety, PPE, and compliance in an explosion-proof work environment.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
- Receives chemicals from suppliers while verifying and maintaining accurate records.
- Ships chemicals outbound if needed including hazardous waste pickups.
- Maintains loading dock, chemical warehouse area and hazardous waste collection areas.
- Performs chemical, pigment & supplier inventory as required while maintaining inventory system accuracy.
- Transfers materials for us in the Compounding/Mixing work area utilizing FIFO methodization.
- Uses computer software to enter and maintain data.
- Able to work independently and within a team.
- Able to safely operate fork trucks as a licensed driver and utilize other material handling equipment.
- Other assigned duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Basic math skills and ability to use formulas to convert weights and measurements.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English with legible handwriting.
- On-time and consistently reliable attendance.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly stand, walk and talk/hear.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- The employee will be required to wear safety PPE as required.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
- The employee will frequently work in a manufacturing and chemical mixing/handling environment near moving mechanical parts, and around hazardous chemicals.
