CHEF - SOUS (FULL TIME)

About the Role

The Chef Sous position is responsible for the overall kitchen operation in accordance with the standard/prescribed procedures of the Dietary Department. Provides dietary services for patients, families, and staff. Maintains a professional demeanor in accordance with the service excellence standards while interacting with patients, patient’s families (including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics), and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate large functions in a large Food Service facility
• Maintain a professional demeanor in accordance with service excellence standards
• Interact effectively with patients, families, and coworkers across all age groups
• Ensure compliance with dietary standards and procedures
• Manage kitchen operations efficiently

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Food Management / Culinary Services preferred
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a large Food Service facility coordinating large functions
• Some management experience preferred
• Food Handler's permit required upon hire
• Certified Chef preferred
• Current valid driver's license
• Ability to read and write English
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors, and others
• Ability to remain calm under stress
• Good interpersonal skills with legible documentation abilities
• Quantitative/mathematical ability (understanding volumes, weights, and measures)
• Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft applications required
• Must successfully complete the pre-employment assessment
