CHEF (FULL TIME)

About the Role

We are hiring immediately for full-time CHEF positions at CHRISTUS Health Highland Medical Center in Shreveport, LA. This role involves directing, coordinating, and evaluating kitchen operations, food production, and food service associates to ensure high-quality meals and excellent service.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate, and participate in activities of cooks and other associates engaged in preparing, cooking, and serving food.
• Ensure all food handling, sanitation, and customer service standards are met.
• Supervise hourly kitchen associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and participating in reviews.
• Efficiently prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes to meet production, delivery, and service schedules.
• Serve meals or prepare for delivery, ensuring proper presentation, food quality, portion control, and maintenance of serving temperatures.
• Track food use, waste, and consumption to requisition or purchase products.
• Receive and inspect products and supplies for quality and quantity.
• Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils; clean workstations thoroughly.
• Keep display equipment clean during meal service to comply with sanitation, safety, production, and merchandising requirements.
• Help select and develop recipes and menus.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous supervisory and culinary experience required.

Pay

Pay Range: $18.00 per hour to $19.00 per hour.

Schedule

Full-time schedule: Friday through Tuesday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. More details upon interview.
