About the role
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for culinary excellence and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences. They will oversee the kitchen operations, ensuring high standards in quality, taste, and presentation.
Responsibilities
- Interacts with guests to gather feedback on product quality and service levels.
- Handles and resolves guest complaints and issues.
- Makes recommendations to the Corporate Executive Chef for succession planning.
- Ensures guests receive an exceptional dining experience.
- Monitors and maintains food stock levels according to Common Bond standards.
- Maintains cleanliness and professionalism of the kitchen staff and their uniforms.
- Safeguards and maintains food preparation equipment.
- Prepares and updates culinary department manuals.
- Manages and adheres to the department's operational budgets, controlling food costs and COGS.
- Plans and conducts departmental meetings, ensuring they are results-oriented.
- Ensures timely preparation of catering orders and adherence to company standards.
- Initiates and follows up on maintenance reports and work orders.
- Manages the team effectively, fostering a positive and motivated atmosphere.
- Works collaboratively with the Executive Corporate Chef to select high-quality ingredients.
- Administers and updates weekly work schedules and timecards.
- Motivates the culinary department and provides constructive feedback on performance.
- Assumes managerial responsibilities during shifts.
- Identifies strengths and weaknesses and provides timely feedback to team members.
- Performs various tasks throughout shifts.
Qualifications
- At least 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience managing in a diverse environment with a focus on quality and customer service.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a standing position for extended periods.
- Willingness to work 50 hours per week, including weekends.
- Required certifications: Serve-Safe or Houston Food Managers Certificate.
