About the role

Responsible for learning and supporting a full‑service Murray’s experience that embodies food passion, cheese knowledge, interactive customer service, and industry‑leading merchandising unique to Murray’s Cheese. The role works closely with the in‑store Murray’s Cheese Master to create an environment of outgoing, personal, theatrical cheese retailing while modeling the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the in‑store Murray’s Cheese Master to foster a theatrical cheese‑retail environment.
• Model and demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
• Cut, wrap, and merchandise cheese and related grocery items.
• Conduct active demonstrations within the Murray’s Cheese Shop, Deli, and other areas.
• Provide proactive customer service through ongoing conversations and tastings.
• Participate in daily cheese tastings to develop product expertise, including tasting cheese every day.
• Contribute to target sales and gross‑profit goals.
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
• Comply with Murray’s operations manual, ensuring consistently fully stocked, fresh, signed, and rotated product selection.
• Complete Murray’s Basic Skills Training and Murray’s Red Jacket Training.
• Create and maintain the Murray’s Boutique experience through education, service, effective cross‑selling, merchandising, and promotion of designated products.
• Perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

• Strong desire to learn, enthusiasm for the product, and willingness to try new and innovative approaches.
• Interest in, and openness to try, cheese daily.
• Ability to convey ideas appropriately based on audience.
• Retail experience.
• Passionate “foodie” who supports cheese‑business initiatives.
• Ability to inspire and motivate customers while ensuring successful completion of assigned tasks.
• Commitment to health, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Willingness to complete required training programs.
• Capability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
