About the role
The Academy of Our Lady of Peace is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Cheerleading Assistant Coach to support our growing cheer program. With a record number of student-athletes this season, the Assistant Coach will play a vital role in providing supervision, individual skill development, and safety oversight during practices.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and executing daily practices, stunt progressions, and conditioning routines.
- Ensure student-athlete safety by strictly enforcing proper stunting, tumbling, and spotting techniques—particularly during competition preparation.
- Provide supervision and guidance to team members at practices.
- Serve as a positive role model, fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and school spirit aligned with OLP’s mission and values.
- Assist with team administrative tasks, attendance tracking, and equipment management as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Prior coaching or competitive cheerleading experience
- Knowledge of standard CIF cheer rules, safety guidelines, and stunt progressions
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Current First Aid / CPR / AED certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
Required Documents & Pre-Employment Requirements
- Applicants must submit a cover letter, resume, and two professional references from current or former supervisors
- Candidates must also provide official transcripts, a current negative TB test result or TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire, complete required training, and successfully complete Livescan fingerprinting
- Employment is contingent upon obtaining fingerprint clearance from the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
Pay
$17.75–$18 per hour
