About the role

The Checker - 043 Houston-Braeswood position at Fiesta Mart is seeking candidates who can provide excellent customer service, love their community, and enjoy food. This role is based at 8650 S. Braeswood Blvd., Houston, Texas, 77031.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain outstanding customer service as per company standards
  • Process sales quickly, accurately, and efficiently
  • Perform cash register operations
  • Safeguard company assets
  • Under direct supervision of the Front End Supervisor, the Checker will assist in ensuring the smooth operation of the store
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds

Requirements

  • Ability to read and write Spanish/English
  • Interact with general public and co-workers
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos
  • Write simple correspondence
  • Present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Bend, stand, and stoop for prolonged periods of time

Qualifications

  • Basic PC/Outlook skills
  • Retail Management Certificate

Skills

  • Spanish/English reading and writing skills
