About the role

The opportunity is for a Checker at the Fiesta Mart Store Operations Team located at 2323 Wirt Rd., Houston, Texas, 77055. This position is open to candidates aged 16-17.

Responsibilities

• Maintain outstanding customer service as per company standards
• Process sales quickly, accurately and efficiently
• Perform cash register operations
• Safeguard company assets
• Under direct supervision of the Front End Supervisor

Requirements

• Ability to read and write Spanish/English
• Ability to interact with general public and co-workers
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds
• Ability to bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods of times

Qualifications

• Basic PC/Outlook skills
• Retail Management Certificate
